    Know your people

    The first step in creating a lead magnet that rocks is to understand your target audience. What are they struggling with that you can help them with? What kind of content do they enjoy consuming? What solutions are they looking for? By answering these questions, you can tailor your lead magnet to their needs and make sure it’s a hit.

    Give them something they’ll love

    Your lead magnet should offer real value to your potential clients. It should educate, entertain, or solve a problem. The content should be well-researched and presented in a format that’s easy to consume, like an ebook, video or podcast.

    Make it gorgeous

    First impressions count! The design should be a top priority it should be visually appealing and on-brand. Use your company’s colour scheme, logo, and font to make it look professional and polished. Make sure the design is consistent throughout and easy to read.

    Keep it short and sweet

    No one has time in their busy day to read an essay Keep it straight to the point, focusing on the key information you want to the point. This will help keep your potential client’s attention and increase the chances of them actually reading it.

    Tell them what to do next

    A clear call-to-action is a must-have! It should be easy to spot and tell your potential clients what they need to do next, book a call, join your group, or buy a product. You can’t expect them to take action unless you tell them to.

     

     

    Where to design your lead magnet

    Depending on what type of lead magnet you’re creating there are a few places you can design your lead magnet for free. For PDF’s you can use Canva or for videos there is Loom.  Avoid using programs such as Word, they don’t give you design freedom and your final lead magnet will look un professional… don’t forget it’s all about making an awesome first impression. If your more experienced in design I’d recommend designing using Indesign that is part of the Adobe Creative suite, especially if you are creating a workbook you can add fillable sections without using  third party software.  Or if design really isn’t your thing and you don’t fancy spending hours staring at a blank screen, book in a for a brew and a chat.

     

     

    How to deliver your lead magnet

    So you have a sparkly new lead magnet, but how are you going to send it to your audience? You need to set up an email marketing system that collects those all important emails and automatically delivers your lead magnet. There are lots of platforms out there that do this but I’d recommend Mailerlite or Systeme.  Once you have chosen your delivery system you need to create a lead magnet landing page or opt-in page,  this is where you direct your audience to sign up to receive your downloadable.
